That gold BMW in the parking area revving (pistons I think were almost clear for take-off) like crazy didn't help - kicked up lots of dust with the breeze helping it along to cover our machines! :hammerhead:

My bro was taking a cellphone vid (mostly of the ground :slap: ) but the cab is seen burning some rubber then filtering back into the procession.

Will have to see if I can upload it to youtube or something.

Let me start by saying it was an experience, but was sadly disappointed by the logistics. By default, I do not enjoy driving gravel roads with a car and arriving at Killarney, was not impressed to drive into the back-road with nicely polished tires.

Then when 1pm came, a gent showed us to go into the small track for absolutely no purpose. We simply had to turn back and follow others to get onto the parade lap.

The previous event showed a tar area where the mass parking would take place and then on arrival, it's in a mess.

I'm not sure who the principle party is that arranged this event, but in general found it shocking.

I am from the slightly older generation and my son accompanied me, but found it mutually bad.

Next time if I want to drive in dirt, I'll use my 4x4 vehicle.

That's me,

Hi Kritzi

The event was hosted and organised by Killarney. The various BMW Clubs and interested individuals have requested a greater participation in the organising and planning of the event for 2012. We hope there will be a positive reply to this request.

The nerve! Back-road entrance hey, and gravel!? :nono:

Oh well, we all experienced the same conditions, and a light breeze to help airborne dust make its way onto our cars - didn't prevent me (and the rest of us) from enjoying the day, and my tyres are still decently clean considering the gravel.

In all I think this event went very well (and good turn-out) - will definitely go again!!!

I think it was pretty awesome weather for a day at Killarney, usually my car gets much dirtier, the day was perfect!

Hi Kritzi,

sorry that you had to encounter such an unhappy experience on the day. It would not be fair to blame any particular person, as it would be a fault by everyone concerned.
There are no excuses for the miscommunications but there are some realistic factors that might have contributed to such confusions.
- Killarney does not yet have a PA/communication system in the New Pits area and I have had commitment from them that this matter would be addressed.
- The gravel roads are unfortunately a part of Killarney that needs to be addressed as well. Although no specific period has been given for this upgrades, I suspect that it might take a while. However this is not the first event that took place on the side and i'm sure it will not be the last.

I do think that Killarney is a fantastic venue, and can only improve with time.
