Hi fellow BMW fanatics!

I would like to know your opinions of the 3 series...

Would you recommend the vehicle? Why or why not?

Thanks!

On my 2nd F30 .. The 320d was a good car, very boring but good nonetheless. My 335i is just awesome :coolShake:

Lot's of little issues on the F chassis though so be prepared to have it back at BMW to sort the car out until you are happy with it.

Well nothing mechanically major.. Rusted seats (early 2012 models), wind noise due to beading not being installed correctly, USB not reading MP3's (some unit replaced and car got recoded), dashboard rattle (sold it like that BMW could never fix it - the plastic panel above the steering column), sunroof rattle (was serviced and re-re-oiled), interior dome light rattle (BMW replaced the inside roof trimming to fix this), horrible factory fitted GoodYear RFTs (every single one bubbled.. Worst tyre ever)

This is about it, like I said nothing major but it's luck of thre draw my prev car was a Rosslyn special.. my new one.. worlds apart, it's perfect! Thus in my mind.. I would avoid all 2012 models :coolShake:

I didn't like the F30. All the 'weight saving' measures were pretty obvious and I'd rather say it was cost saving measures. In general it doesn't feel as solid as the E90s and I fear the build quality was not up to scratch. Things like where the metal was folded around the doors and bonnet didn't look or feel good. I could sit in the drivers seat and see the bottom metal part of the bonnet and there was no real finesse to how this was finished. The sport seats were truly uncomfortable and the early cars were plagued with all kinds of little rattles and fitment issues.

What stood out on the car was that tranny and 2l turbo petrol engine. These are magnificent though and the car was super economic.

And then there's the resale value. I bought the car for R440k In July 2012 and battled to get R240k when I sold Sept 2014. I had it for 2 years and did 60k km on it, and it was a fully loaded car at the time.

The F10 I had was another story and the car is something else. You could see the difference in quality straight away. Granted, it's supposed to be a better car, but the attention to detail is miles apart from the Rosslyn cars

Going from an E90 330i to an F30 328i.... i'd say that i can't really tell the difference between the "solid" feels of either car. The F30 feels lighter with the lighter electric power steering.

I get what cOlDFuSiOn is saying about the rattles... i have a squeek coming from the left rear door... and the plastic above the wheel rattles when the car sits in the sun and the plastic expands... but then i just touch it and it stops lol. Same thing with the screen in the middle of the dashboard...

Other than that I have no complaints.
