BMW F10 520d

[F21GP]

Hello All

So I've been using the 116i 3 door as a daily for the last 4.5 years and with a baby due end of June it was not going to be plausible to keep it anymore. I was thinking of a range of bigger cars and wasn't planning on using the X6 as a daily.

Thought about another 1 series but a 5 door but didn't think the space was that great at the back, 3 series is very nice and has bit more space but wanted a bit more and as you can see I'm a BMW guy, so was not reaching out of the brand for now.

Looked around at a few 5 series and loved them. The 528i is a very nice car and had decent power but wanted a everyday work horse with great fuel economy and decided a diesel was for me.

So i ended up with this today.

2014 520d M Sport

Navigation professional
Extended Bluetooth or something
Sunroof
Connected drive etc.

Will upload some more pics when I get home.

The wife is now giving me grief around the M6 so it may be leaving the stable

I still need to really drive it to get a real sense, but based on a highway run to airport and some stop go traffic the car really picks up nicely from a start and overtakes well. It is very comfortable and my range indicator is still saying 800km after 50km of driving.

Congrats dude, perfect cabbie for the family!

my brother in law had one and misses it still to this day even with teh 15' X5 40d M-Sport that replaced it.

I rate the 520d as one of the most under-estimated cars but it has best value for money. Until it is driven, one will always have doubt about that size of a car with that engine.

thats an awesum daily, congrats and wishing you nothing but safe and awesome motoring... Make another plan with the M6, you know you need to keep both the V10's for as long as possible they becoming scarce

Yes it definitely is a well balanced car. That sneaky M is a X6M, it's got about 20k on the clock and has every optional extra that was selectable basically except for park assist. It is a absolute bomb, comfort, technology speed everything in one place. My dad bought it for himself but has no time and space for it so it has fallen in my lap.

You don't even have to put in your navigation route, you just call concierge services say you driving and can't input route, the talk you through the car and download a route to the Navigation and by the time the call is done the car is guiding you. The call centre seems to be in the US I think. It's very useful some of those gadgets.

Not to diss your 520d, but the X6M sounds like a spaceship compared to the 520d!

Concierge service is a very handy option indeed. It sounds like a gimmick, but comes in handy more than you'd think.:coolShake:
