Yeah, don't understand why go and do something like that :nonono: and I wouldn't read to much into this in terms of how long the engine will last as this just shows that older BMW engines are strong, and we all pretty much know that I have my doubts whether anything from the e46 range and up would be able to last this long.

sank,youll be surprised,sensors would actually put the motor into limp mode meaning that the motor would last longer,also even shutting it down,so as it could be tow to your nearest dealer

The thing is, that engine was under very little load, just running at higher revs until things ultimately failed. I doubt any engine would last very long with no fluids when working a load as in driving etc.
