Hay everyone I recently bought a 2006 320i E90..after buying it had a few problems with the vanos and timing chain ...Now i got that fixed but have a problem now with running and cutting and a little smoke on start up can this be a because of a faulty fuel pump

Without codes, I'd guess:
battery
starter motor
vanos solenoids
and the two cam shaft sensors
MAF and MAP sesors

everything but the first two you can remove and clean yourself in under a hour
if you know your way around the engine bay.

Hard to know without reading at least the codes....its possible that adaptations need to be reset after the vanos & timing was done...but dont know.
