Hey Gents

Happy new years and all the best for 2020!!!!

Since I bought my 320d the issue with my HU has given me grey hairs.... unfortunately I have not been able to play any MP3 with it and also having just aux, the cable keeps getting screwed up and with my phone I can only use one type of aux cable....

So I finally got tired and removed the head unit and stripped it apart and cleaned the lens..... with hopes the damn thing will play mp3s...

connected it back up and tried and still nothing... its plays certain ones but those play as if the CD is scratched and not all the songs play or it says CD error...

So now im thinking if I should just replace it with another or save and get one with the usb input and pay the arm and leg and get it coded etc... (which I dont want to spend to much right now)

or if anyone has a broken radio that they are throwing away or sitting collecting dust that would be willing to sell for a decent price....

I have a 2010 E90 320d LCI Msport

Any help advice welcome!!!!

Howsit, You will need a head unit the cable that runs from the unit to the USB plug in the armrest and the USB plug itself, your best bet is a scrapyard for this.

Remember its 3 different things you need, no coding will be needed. If you in JHB I used Electron Scrapyard in Steeldale ... the cost was around 2k for everything if memory serves me correctly...

one bit of advice if you DIY make sure your key is off or disconnect the battery when working with anything near the gearshift... I made a very expensive Fup.... lol

Hope this helps.

No problem, it has to say Bluetooth on the label on top and it must have the white plug for USB to plug in at the back. No pics offhand ...Sorry...

To the OP. why dont you replace it with this.
https://www.eonon.com/Android-Car-G...7-Inch-Touchscreen-Support-Bluetooth-5-0.html

I have done so over the past December period and the unit looks nice and modern.
USB functions bluetooth gps dvd the works.
Everything is plug and play. Steering controls all work fine as should.
Installation is easy.

Paid with customs and clearance Around R6000 and this was ordered directly from Eonon website.

Some times they have specials then you score.
Mine was bought with Christmas special and included free gifts that whould have cost more.

I had a look at that option also, problem is I like the OEM look and I saw on install is kinda pushes the AC control out more rather then it being flush with its mounting points...

my honesty is I would rather spend 6k on software and dp then put a new deck in... lol the stock sound is lekker all I need is a deck that plays MP3s or usb would be a blessing...
