I would definately recommend them! Did my mcoupe! Currently fastest Z3 aspirated in the country. 30,000kms no problems
Had the remap on my 320d now for 30,000kms, everyday map. Fuel consumption is down by about 0.5l/100kms

Remap cannot be picked up by dealer. Went in for 2 services already with the remap on.

I know this is old posts...but im looking into getting 320d also and remap...

As u say dealer cant pick up yes...but a new "appy" who is bored and curious can out of the blue upload new software from bmw itself on ur car when it is in for service and then woosh gone is ur R4500 software upgrade as hes software overwright urs....

To not put too fine a point on it. BMW can pick up tunes, finish and klaar. They don't even have to go look for it, their diagnostic software shows it up straight away.

It works by comparing the checksum in the ECU against a list of dealer checksums and if they different, it pops up a screen and shows which modules are affected. I've looked at quite a few cars with tunes and picked it up every time.

I'm sure there are tuners out there that's more clever about it, but I've yet to see it. Point is, if you have MP don't go for a tune. It's just not worth it

+1 flash tune and MP is dangerous unless you've got a contact at the dealership :coolShake:

In some cases even a contact won't help you, for two reasons:

1. The diagnostics are stored as part of your CIA report every time they connect to your car. This is automatic in the ISPI system. This is stored in Germany and the diagnostics are checked / audited frequently in order to monitor trending on cars. An issue with the flash of the car will be noted in the history of the car.

2. Even if the dealer is prepared to cover it up, there are MP reps that pop into dealerships unannounced in order to check what's up with cars on the floor. The dealership is more worried about keeping the MP rep happy than the customer.

It's only been recently (two or so years I believe) that they've been very rigid on this

They came this meticulous due to the number of V8's in Durban that were "popping" engines :tiptoe:

Sup gents ,

Can i revive this thread instead of starting a new one?
