BMW e90 320d LCI Computer Box

I feel that everytime I post on this forum its because something has gone wrong on my car but anyway...last week the car wouldnt start and the steering wouldnt unlock etc. I had it trailered to the usual bmw mechanic I go to and they discovered the computer box needs replacement. Where can one find a computer box for a manual e90 320d LCI? Thanks a lot

are you sure its your computer box and not your battery?
was the car left out in the rain prior to the issue?

EDC17CP02 if I'm not mistaken. I'm assuming you have the N47A engine and not the later N47C, that uses the later EDC17C41 ecu. Chuck up a pic, but I do have stock of either.

I parked my car in the yard at night and for the first time in a while it did actually rain...next day it wouldnt start with every warning light possible thrown up. Battery was replaced recently...

what does the rain have to do with this?

I think drainage plug issues exist on the E series, which allows water to not drain properly and then it stuffs up the ECU. Remember reading that somewhere on here...

Just an update on this...the issue turned out to be a drainage problem which after parking in the rain one night drowned my computer box. Surprising that it happened but it seems to be a problem with E90's. I just want to give a huge thanks to OBDworx and GermanTechnik for their excellent service. I will make a seperate thread on this as soon as I can.

Are you serious OP :dropjaw: in one night, how bad was the drain blocked. Mean we all drive with ticking time bombs then, will have to make this like a tyre pressure thing then, check one every 14 days

what does the rain have to do with this?

poor drainage issue, Believe it, my cousin had the same issue with his E90 320i pre LCI about 5 years back. and apparently he wasn't the only person with the issue at the time.
