Paint Correction Detail

A few months ago we were contacted by a good friend and a fellow forum member to perform a paint correction detail on his wife's newly purchased E87 120d, we were tasked to mainly bring back some life to the paint work and remove some of the defects that were visible.

Apon inspection we found the usual swirling and buffer trails on a few panels which were sorted out using products from the Meguiars range we opted for a Meguiars M105 and M205 combo to tackle the defects.

Some before sun shots to give you an idea of what it was like!

Wheels and Tyres need a good scrub

After some Wheel cleaner, tar remover and Iron decontamination :=):

Due to time constraints not everything was captured with the prepping stage but bellow is a picture after a good foam down using a mix of Meguiars Mega Wash with some APC and added bits :cartel:, car was sprayed down with some iron out and tar remover to ensure all surface contamination is removed and there after it was given a once over with Meguiars Clay Bar :=):

Looks about done now id say ? All previous wax or enhancers were removed during the prepping stage so we looking at bare paint now looks pretty decent

To the average person the above would have been sufficient but since we a bunch of car nutters we decide to put her under the light and found the following :sorry:

Swirls and what looks like brillo pad scracthes :RedNo: guess sunlight sponges were used by the previous owner ?

Same panel as above we initially did a single pass of M105 on a foam pad which managed to improve but not exactly what we wanted so we switched pads and refined with M205 leaving us with this :rollsmile:

Before

After

Tail lights got some much needed tlc as well :cartel:

Final sunshot with the car wearing a coat of AF Tough Coat and Meguiars M26 Carnauba wax

Pictures borrowed from Firis Thread

Must be the case, as I can see it.
Was also blocked my side by the work server, so plugged out the network point and switched to the 3G.
