Hi guys

I put sport mode on on my manual e46 M3 ,but when reving hard and quickly changing to 2nd gear the car like cuts off on the revs for a second or 2 and then continues to rev normal not sure if this is an issue it only happens in 2nd gear. Please could I get some advice guys anyone experience this as well ?

Do you have Traction control/DSC enabled? If you do, what is most likely happening, is your car is cutting back the power to prevent your tyres from spinning. Turn off your DSC and try again.

Happens in every e46 M3 when sport mode is enabled.

Yip its exactly the way //M3's behave with TC switched on, also exactly how GTI's and ST beat them:roflol::roflol:

That's true, I once raced a Gti 6 when I was still NA. Had sports mode on with DSC still on. First gear I pulled ahead, changing into 2nd and suddenly DSC light flashes like a Christmas tree, golf 6 catches up and is slightly ahead, and I'm playing catch up. Turn the DSC off!!!!!

The advantage of the nice gearbox in the E46.
It is a bit more difficult to achieve in the Z4, but I hope a CDV delete might fix that.
