BMW e46 330d Engine Mounts

as i understood it the vacuum control makes the mount softer at idle, since that is where the engine's vibrations are most accutely felt.. and stiffens them at higher rpm..

for what its worth i have removed the vacuum lines to my 330d's mounts a long time ago, only 1 vacuum line active on my car and that is the vacuum line to the turbo.. i have not had issues with the mounts..

So if you disconnect engine mount. How do you know what state it leaves the mount in?

Do you need to plug the mount?

Following Netercol's advice I also removed the actuator and removed the vacuum lines from mine all together. Did not plug them or do anything else. They are still 100% functional and lekker :)

Ok I think I'm going to do that when they refit them.

Do you think its a possibility that the electronic valve that controls them had failed and forced them to be in their soft state the whole time. And they failed under heavy acceleration?
