bmw e36 cluster always lit

E36 323i 1996

Okay we all know my cluster is faulty. But why is my trip display always lit? I turn the ignition off and remove the key then i lock the car with the key and still the trip display I still showing. My central locking is working so it locks all doors and the bootlid. Then i pull the bonnet and lock the doors. Open the bonnet and no alarm..

Any advise?

Dodgy radio install, pull the aftermarket radio out and wire it correctly.

When removing the key the cluster shuts off like it's supposed to:clapper:
