bmw e36 328 propshaft noise

Hi guys,
I have been searching but I'm battling to find a similar problem... I recently fitted new gearbox and engine mountings on my 328i, and everything seemed fine... This morning when driving the car, I noticed a light noise coming from the front part of the propshaft or that area as the vehicle starts moving. This noise is like a touching or light knocking sound at a frequency proportional to da speed. This noise is not always there. I'm not sure if this problem is related to the mounting install, or if its totally different, and if so, what could be causing this?
Thanx guys
Llewelyn

Check the rubber coupling between the propshaft and the gearbox. It might be torn. If it is....replace only with the genuine part. Should set u back about R1500. The pirate parts don't last

Did you replace the coupling with an Oem part? the pirate parts are known to go oval and then break apart :thumbdo:

Howsit guys, sorry for the very late reply, thanx so much for your assistance, turns out the sump guard was not mounted correctly as it was touching the sump, once re-mounted with new bolts noise was gone. Thanx guys.
