Good day,

I am planning on buying my first car, a BMW e36 318is facelift.

I am already planning on what sound to put into it.

I am looking for suggestions please.

I want more quality over loudness, but would like to blast the bass every now and then :D

My Budget is -+R10000 excluding the headunit.

Random dumb question: What's the difference between 6 buy 9's and mids?

I'm rather clueless on this topic.

My build:

Headunit: Kenwood DNR8035BT

6"9s: Pioneer TS-A6995S 600w 5Way 6X9 Speakers

Amplifier: No idea

Subs: Pioneer TS-W3003D4 12" Champion Series 2000w Sub x 2

Don't what else I would need besides wiring.

I know some people install capacitors to feed the Subwoofer sometimes.

Everything is changeable besides the headunit.

Thanks :)

My advice would be to not spend money where it's not needed. If you buying a car that is going on 20yrs old then rather spend the money on maintenance and repairs as the car is most likely going to need many.

Speak to Spiro or Zound on the forum they seem to be the sound Gurus and have played around on multiple setups. :coolShake:

I stuffed 6" mids in the back (think oem is 5.25) and front, both pioneer. Also got a 12 in the boot with a xtc amp. Sounds great doubt you will need anything more unless you one of those sound competition guys, shouldn't cost more that 5k. Keep the rest for maintenance like Gizmo said, it cost me 3k for a mass airflow sensor, 1.5k for cam sensor, thermostat 800, water pump 800, you still have to think about bushes, shock mounts, services and importantly shocks and springs for lowering the car :D
