BMW E30 Power Steering issues

Hi peeps

Picked up a power steering issues on my E30 325i,
Pulled it outta the garage and noticed the steering much harder and stiffer like no power steering.
Popped the hood checked the power steering fluid is low. I topped up the fluid but I checked the old fluid looks likes coffee, thick and brown. But no change top the steering.

I got no noise on the pump nor do I have a leak,
A close buddie of mine reckon we should try a complete power steering flush.

How would I know if its my power steering pump that gave up as I'm not getting no whine either and like I said theres no leaks

Any help will be highly appreciated

Reduce the oil level. Check if there is flow while the car is running. If there is no flow chances are pump is caput. You can also remove the low pressure line and run the motor to see if fluid flows. Lastly remove high pressure line and run motor. If you have flow then there is a blockage in the system.

Had some time yesterday, decided to do a flush

Got the ATF, jack stands and tray all together
pop the hood and my luck no power steering belt :hammerhead:

My friend came over with a spare belt, changed it,
did a flush and wala I have power steering :praise:

How I didn't even see no belt :thumbdo:

But sorted thanx
