BMW E30 Key swop

Hi, I have a 1989 BMW 325i e30 and would like to change the ignition barrel for an e46 ignition barrel so that I can use the e46 key. Would an e46 barrel fit in an e30 and what modifications if any would I have to do to get it to work?

That would take a whole lot more than it could ever be worth unfortunately.

The e46 key charges off the ignition. It is also coded to the computer box.
You would more than likely have to go for a full e46 upgrade to the car to make that happen seamlessly-ish.
