BMW dealer (Service recommendations)

Need recommendations for a BMW dealer. I need to take the X5 for a service - was happy taking my car to Lyndhurst (Melrose), but I have been trying to make a service booking for the last 2 days and can't get through. I left messages to get them to call me back, but no one returned the call.

Anyway, I am in Roodepoort (14th Ave) and need recommendations on a (nearby) dealer that can drop me off and pick me up. However, the car is out of MP, and I would like to take it to a BMW workshop that knows what they're doing (even if it's for a basic service).

BTW, my other/older BM's go to TuneTech, but I would like to keep FSH @ BMW for the X5, even though I know TuneTech will do a better job than any BMW dealership.

Have narrowed the options down to Club Motors (Randburg) and NorthCliff Auto. Anyone have experence with these dealerships?

Nope. The 2 dealerships that i have used in JHB are Auto Alpina in Boksburg (closest dealer when my ex 330i burst it's coolant expansion tank) and Lyndhurst Auto. Both provided excellent service.

I work in Roodepoort nowadays, and was looking for something nearby and convenient, as this is just a basic service. However, I have now booked the car at Club Motors Randburg for next Wed - will provide feedback after the service, if anyone is interested.

My experience with Club Motors Randburg, is that they weren't too friendly in the service dept.

My car was out of Motorplan as well. Had a power steering pump failure. Service manager sent some appie out who diagnosed and quoted for the car from 5m away.

And R12000 at that!!!

Clearwater BMW might be close to you as well.

For those that are interested, here is some feedback from Club Motors Randburg.

No real issues - car booked in, dropped me at work without hassle.

They phoned me a bit late though with a quote (around 11ish). However, picked up the car and it was much smoother and no problems. The quote included/suggested a normal service + faulty injector. I told them just to do the service (Inspection 2) and leave the injector for now.

When I picked up the car, they said the diagnostic test found one injector faulty before the service. They did the test again after the service and it was fine.

However, I will take the car to TuneTech next month to have the injectors checked out. I suspect they may need cleaning/servicing, rather than replacing.

Overall, the booking, service, etc was fine. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. Car was ready by 4ish and they picked me up from work.

On a side note, I think 15K was a tad too long for a service as the car felt much, much smoother after the service. I think I'll be taking it in for an oil change at 10K-12K from now on.

regarding oil change's, i rate every 7.5k certainly wont hurt and u'd be keeping that motor healthy

Northcliff Auto is very good, speak to Joan there, been dealing with Northcliff Auto for about 10-15 years

Joan Munts from Northcliff auto is one of the best people you can deal with! We've also been using her for about 10-15 years. I remember when I was about 13 we were taking delivery of my brothers car and she tried to convince my dad to get me a new Z4 for my first car!

Great lady with a sense of humour and will do anything possible to make you happy. She used to be a salesman and is now an after sales consultant. Down to earth, has a back bone and will crap on the techie's if the car isnt ready on time big ups to her! shes part of why i became a beemer slut

I had service my car with Club Motors Randburg. The whole staff is very disciplined and the services provided by them are very good as compared to any other service station.
