Map update is separate, but worth it in my opinion. The difference between, say, a 2022 map and a 2023 map is quite significant, especially with things like updating road closures, new roads etc.

Remote services is just so you can utilise the BMW App which gives you remote insight into your car, if you have the functionality the ability to unlock the car with your app as opposed to your key (helpful if you don't have your key on you and need to just get something out the car or have somehow contrived to lock your keys in the car), and a remote camera operation that will take snaps if you've got 360 degree cameras on your car, think this is from 2017 models onwards.

Think Concierge Service is a bit of a waste. If your car is compatible, Apple Carplay is definitely worth it, but expensive (think I paid R5000 for the privilege, but it's now a lifetime subscription with my car. Downside is if I buy a new car the Carplay is NOT transferrable to the new vehicle). Carplay is compatible with 2017 onwards (iDrive NBT EVO (so iDrive 5 or 6 I think? May be mistaken).

It’s definitely worth it on newer cars. On my 2016 NBT EVO it’s slow, painful to enter destinations, and the routing happily takes you through the kasie to save 5 min. So it’s a no for me dawg.

Do you have fastest route or shortest route set ?

I send destinations to the car via the app and it’s works great. Are you not able to do that ?

I search the address / destination on Google Maps and send it to the car. Easiest way IMO.

Fastest route setting.

I can, but Waze is faster, routes better, and has cops/cameras notifications. Really difficult to make a case for the on board navigation, other than having the directions on the HUD.
