Another day another BMW...............
Going head to head with Merc's B-Class?
Are they becoming like Volvo........this is a dramatically styled mini MPV, lots of styling on a boring segment vehicle.
Gone are the days of fantastic technical voodoo under the bonnet, supreme dynamics and handling balance...........
enter practical and sensible BMWs.
Why not stick a BMW badge on a bus or taxi since they entering new markets?
There so many choices in the mini MPV market, why spend on these projects, when the fans are shouting for:-
1. Z4 M-Coupe
2. M7
3. A5 Sportback competitor, not a 3Ser GT
4. E92 M3 CSL
5. 1M CSL
6. M1 Supercar or R8 competitor
7. 8 Series re-incarnation
8. Compact sports car smaller than Z4 aka Z2
9. A range of vehicles to complete with Mercs Black Editions
10. A X-Factor car like the Z3 M-Coupe, something dreamed up and designed by the engineers not requisitioned by the boardroom jocks.
If they are converting the brand into a mass volume seller, instead of a carmaker of sporty or sports luxury cars then sadly I think they have lost direction, and the board of directors that make decisions are not real BMW enthusiasts, but just want to slap the brand badge on every single concept they think will sell and shift units.
I just feel this brand is being diluted, it's becomes ridiculous when you see a BMW badge on everything with 4 wheels these days, alot of that mystique about the brand is being lost. If they there going to be BMW badges on small city cars and mpvs, I'm going to drift away from this brand, as its not representative of what the history of the brand is......
even though they are making class leading vehicles, as a luxury brand its uniqueness and appeal just goes out the window if you seeing the badge on everything................:thumbdo:
