But the car that got my attention was the BMW 320i STW. Best looking race cars ever, I was so young but remember the Van Der Linde and Mike Briggs super touring cars? THEY LOOKED SO GOOD.

What motor is that in the first pic? I feel stupid for saying this but it looks like a V4 due to the 2 separate heads. Its strange to see the motor mounted square instead of the usual cant.

It's possibly a M12 as used in 70s formula 2 and in the 320 dtm of the same period. Four cylinders, 16v, dohc. Was used later in turbo charged form in formula 1 from 82 to 88. Made up to 1300 bhp in high boost qualifying spec, from just 1500cc!raise:
