Thanks everyone.

The meeting on Saturday went very well. Met the rest of the BMW clubs committee from around the country. The club consists of 8 bike clubs and 3 car clubs. Very friendly and helpful people.

We chatted about the financials, amount of members per club, what’s been happening the past 3 months (since last meeting), upcoming events mainly for the bikers, etc etc.

In Brief, the official BMW Clubs (cars and bikes) falls under the BMW Clubs Africa which is a member club of the International Council of BMW Clubs of the BMW Group…. The other BMW clubs out there, are not officially recognised.

Unfortunately, we cant combine the Official BMW club and MINI club as one club. They need to be separate. We can be part of the same event/s though.

Our Objectives for the club:

Promote BMW cars.
Hold social meetings & events.
Exchange technical knowledge, data and experience in BMW driving.
Communicate information about BMW products & interests.
Promote cultural and social responsibility activities.
Promote & provide safe and competent driving skills and support.
...............
At the next BMWCCT meeting, with members, the committee will discuss the club in full detail.

Sort of but not really, if that makes sense? So the official holding brand is BMW Clubs Africa, which we are an affiliate of (the 3 car clubs and the bike clubs). BMW Clubs Africa is then affiliated with BMW as a company.
Not sure any of this makes sense....:roflol:

The club and Fanatics are separate…..

Fanatics is just a forum for us (the community) BMW and Mini owners. The forum is an online “chat/discussions” for things like technical questions, selling your car/parts, general chats, jokes etc.

The club is for “get-togethers”, events, discounts from BMW dealerships, etc.

Unfortunately, the MINI owners can't be a member of the official BMW Club, only BMW car/bike owners.

But, MINI owners can attend the BMW Club events.

I Googled for Official MINI club, on SA websites and got these 2, dont think they are Official clubs that fall under the MINI Company umbrella:
