Its nice that you want to get judges involved, but shouldnt you rather get someone thats really knowledgeable what it take to get a car looking perfect?

At another event I believe that an E36 M3 that stopped for a wash at the garage on the way ended up winning because of a weighting system on a cars age.

I would suggest getting Lambchop involved. Hes a BMW owner and knows his stuff. Carn is also around those parts.

If I am not mistaken cars here will also be given points based on age, something like half a point per year but no more than 20 years.

I would guess that they would at least interview people who volunteer, well it would make sense that they should.

But I agree it would be worthwhile to call in the expertise of people like carn and lambchop.

@ Sankekur - you are right - up to 20 years at half a point - so only 10 points out of the 100 points.

As for the judges on the Classic Cars - it is more to ensure that someone who enters d'Etat has a truly original car including the radio, steering wheel, mags etc (including those available as an option from BMW at the time) - but any volunteer would be screened and would accompany a BMW Car Club committee member.

There are also mileage points up to 100k km (1 pt per 10k km) so max of 10 points. The show 'n shine class is for less hard-core competitors who could take their car to the car wash as it is not as strict - but would still check condition and cleanliness of engine, interior, boot etc.
