As the subject suggest I'm looking for two boot dampers, mine are a bit worn and the boot struggles a bit to stay open.

Does anyone know of a place where I can buy cheap replacements, I'm sure oem is very expensive ?

I'm in jhb, any advice would be appreciated....

I would suggest getting a quote from BMW even though we all don't want to then you can compare the other prices  Goldwagen perhaps?

Now's a good time for you to make us a new DIY:
Get the E90 boot to open/raise via the key

Dont people put springs on those to make it pop open when you hit the boot button? The ones I've seen open too fast for my liking though.

They do kinda fly up with the spring system. I was always weary with my E-Class because it looked like the boot lid would just fly off its hinge.

IMHO the best solution is the factory option which uses hydraulics. This should not be an aftermarket DIY.
