Bmw offered me 25k for my 98 318is with (230k km), and the market value is 39k and market price around 45-50k.

My friend sold his 97 318is with (330k km) for 35k at a non bmw dealer.

Bmw are definitively smoking something.

I see someone is being optimistic :mmm:

Best would be to just drive the 323i till your son can drive, then give the car to him and buy yourself something new :=):

this is the reason why so many german car fans have opted to buy Korean (Hyundai/KIA) vehicles you don't pay an arm and a leg for options -most of their cars come 'full option' as standard - I can also say the features outstrip the same class segment compared to the germans -take the new KIA Rio and compare it to the VW Polo - std option radio/tape guys for the Polo we passed the 90s long ago also compare the Hyundai Sonata for R300k you get a car the size of a E-class Merc + full house + panoramic roof - no wonder the Germans are kakking :biglol:

My concern is ; why would anyone be willing to accept a 50k / annum drop in value from a sales person? People do that and it is the norm to loose on your old car. Then again I sold old skedonks before and percentage wise did not loose nearly as much.

Looks like people just accept that their cars de-valued and would just pay for a new(er) one - the feel good factor. And saled people is takeing advantage of that.

Bought a 325i, 2006 Sept 25 2011 - R190k
When I wanted to sell it two months later, BMW offered me 115k. I managed to squeeze them to 120k, no more...Would have lost my 60k deposit instantly.
The excuse from mr. salesman - 325i's don't sell readily and it will be on their floor for at least 6 months...

I lost interest in being fed to the sharks

The only BMW I could see standing on the floor for a long time is the 5GT. Good stock is hard to come by so I don't get how they can spin this BS

Pretty much the same boat here, bought my car for a fairly large chunk of money, and it's a 2005 model, they probably saw me coming!! Plus the timing was a bit wrong, was a Friday and that following week I was going to be out of town for over a week, so pressure was on to make a decision and at the time it felt right. I was initially specifically looking for a good low mileage E46 330i manual - just were none around, then came across an advert for this 2005 E90 with 46k km still under motorplan...
