they cost about R400 or so

look for either myCarr CCFL or LED, depending which way you want to go, they are the best, and all the big "name" brands are just rebranded.

they are easy to fit yourself

I was wondering about LED vs CCFL. I'm just worried that the LEDs are so bright that it does not look like a distinct ring from a distance.

some cheap led rings look like that mine out look solid like ccfl ones i would not even thing about ccfl the over heat very easily
no one that makes decent angles use ccfl anymore because of that leds are brighter use less energy and last longer ccfl is rubbish

a bit harsh :) wouldnt say CCFL is rubbish, its just that technology has moved on. IC and SMD's get cheaper to produce, reliability goes up, its progress.

this is like saying that LCD tvs/monitors are rubbish, you must have an LED monitor :pimp:

BTW, I will be putting my AE's in the FS section soon

if you have a choice between something that works and something that is lightly to break i think its best to go with the thing that does not break?

also if you want to run lights in the day when its hotter it is better to get leds because they are brighter and they dont fail because of heat

obviously. but at the same time you do get real shit LED AE's too. not all things are equal :)

I have had 2 sets on CCFL AE's, one on my e36, and one on the e46 both for about 2 years. I run with my headlights on permanently, and have never had any issues.

thats crazy i thought with the heat we have ccfls would not last long at all... im very happy with my led angles thou because they very bright so are very visible during the day im not sure that ccfl can get that bright but i could be wrong...
