BMW alarm issues

I see a lot of beautiful Bmw's here, hope to get mine as pretty in due time.

I already have a question as I am having some issues with the alarm/immobilizer which is driving me nuts. :bangdesk:

The issue:
Sometimes when locking the doors the alarm goes off for no reason. This has also happened after unlocking the car with the remote as normal and the alarm then going off when I start the car.

What have I tried:
I have read a few posts on it here and tried a few things
Checked bonnet and boot locking sensors
Checked fuses
Tried resetting central locking system
:nonono:

Notes
The left rear door lock is not working, I have to open it manually.
The passenger door doesn't always lock when using the remote.(Also causes alarm to go off sometimes)
The alarm, immobilizer is standard Bmw, i.e. still connected to original Bmw business radio.
The model of the car is 1996 318is m44

Any more suggestions?

You have to get the left rear door fixed, that is part of your problem, also the passenger door needs to be looked at to solve the problem completely.

I also have problems with the alarm system on my car: Are the transponder and alarm remote frequencies the same? My transponder still works, car starts and runs fine, but the alarm remote is dead. Also all the doors lock and unlock fine, but boot sensor is deactivated. It is a BMW E46 M320i

Hi, the remote does turn off the alarm when it goes off, sometimes it just causes it to make a long constant ping noise. I will be trying to get the passenger door fixed this weekend, see if that helps

Alarm issue fixed on my car, only needed a new key & remote. That long ping noise you is the door lock motor struggling to move, if it continues to be under strain, it is going to burn out.

The doors lock fine, the ping noise just randomly happens during the day, hours after locking the car it will go off, only solution so far is to disconnect the car battery

Can i ask where did you get a new remote? Mine does lock and unlock the car but im at the point of trying anything really.
