BMW Accessory Price MADNESS!

Um...for that price, i would completely relook at the fact, that I might not be thirsty in my car any more....

The next best bet - i would rather stock up my clothing, and take the chance and drive with it between my legs...but me - pay 13.5k for a cup holder....NEVER!!! I would even have the guts to ask them, how often do they sell these "special" cup holders....my goodness!!!

reminds me of the time I called BMW to enquire about the price of an LSD cartridge for my e30. They were asking 17.5k just for the lsd cartridge, not including the diff...i promptly asked the salesman, do you have one thats not gold plated....he laughed, i laughed and that was the last time i really wanted to purchase anything fresh for my car from BMW...

Pricing is dog-garn ridiculous! Im sure the guy/gal thats putting prices to these items, are on those really cheap and expired drugs!!!!

I think the statement needs correction

BMW SA's prices are mad, I usually get my stuff for much less. (30% - 80%)

So BMW head office has contact me. The best the can offer it to me for is R5500, since the supplier charges them R8900 for it. They are looking into alternatives for me though.

Glad they responded to you...

I find alot of inconsistency from them.Recently priced a head unit. Was quoted at 23k at one dealer and 10k at another using the same part number. Idiots I tell you :bangdesk:

WHAHAHAH, now they just responded saying that the part number I gave them is for the entire central console. R13'500 for a complete central console is a bargain. :roflol::roflol::roflol:

I felt it my place to supply them with the parts diagrams and correct part numbers.

A central console for a 6-series convertible, as a matter of interest, comes in at a whopping R37'167 incl. vat.

Ok so after basically calling me stupid on the post I made on their Facebook page, and me sending them the correct information again, the gentleman I have been dealing with called me and apologized profusely for their mistake and...wait for it...they will absorb the cost of the cup holder and supply it to me free of charge.

Well I nearly fell of my chair since BMW didn't want to cover the cost of a R900 software upgrade but are willing to give me a R13'500 accessory for free.

While it was never my intention to get anything for free I will admit that I sincerely appreciate this very generous gesture from BMW South Africa.

so they going to fix the problem or just give you a free part?

My local BMW Dealership has to order the part and the cost will be covered in whole by BMW South Africa as a goodwill gesture.
