Hi all, here goes first i will tell you guys about historic rules in the pre66 legends that i will be racing in.
The engine must be same make (bmw car bmw engine)
same config 2cylinder r60 bike as per original car,my car will be 2cylinder r1000s bike motor,
original alluminum block
new motor alluminum block
old motor carburators
r1000s fuel injection will change to carbs to conform.
below 1000cc allowed a 50 percent increase in cc(700 mine 1000cc )
So here we go some pictures of the car when i got it,had fibreglass panels that is also not allowed (unless those parts are not available then you can get compensation for them) fortunatly i have got the metal off a spare car that i had :=):

Hi guys, okay next move was to install the motor, the first problem was to get the drive to the wheels I removed the drive shaft from the bmw bike and installed the bike diff straight onto the gearbox to shorten the unit, then turned the diff upside down to change the drive direction as the motor is installed the wrong way round in the car.The next thing is to attatch a sprocket where the wheel normally attaches and to tie the motor gearbox and diff into a unit and remove all possible movement so that when i attach the chain to the drive it cant come off due to any missalignment as you rev under torque, again we have another problem no reverse gear so we attach a flywheel to the sprocket on the diff next to the chain sprocket and will put a geared suv starter motor and when the clutch is engaged a switch will activate and allow me to push a button and engage the starter that will give me a reverse gear for the classic racing i need a reverse gear incase I lose it and end up in the kitty litter and have to get out in reverse.(all these things you have to do to conform)

nice build:thumbs:

i would love to see the bike engine in the car and how you got it to work,i did read up that you get a different box(cant remember the name) for bike engines to fit in a car, where it engages reverse(wanted to put a firebalde motor in a beetle)

but if i remember correctly it was auto

anyway good luck with the build, and hope to see this car:thumbs:

Hi Herr bmw,
I did find a revesing gearbox that fits in line with your output shaft on the bike transmission but it costs 700pounds and is made by quaiffe
a little expensive for me so i have chosen to make the reverse to operate electricaly with the geared starter motor. The car is quite lite so should be able to move the car in reverse this wont be all the time as i will get the pit crew to push the car :=)::=):if needed, its just to conform to the rule that you have to have a reverse gear
