Howdy All,

Well it seems it is HAAL UIT EN WEIS/WYS time. My front shocks have packed it in.

I am looking at Bilsteins. Now what is surprising to me is that the guy from steves.co.za wants to know from me if I have the sports or normal suspension.

I have no idea. :sorry: How would I know? :argh:

Thank you.

Judging from your sig you have the normal suspension, Also get a quote on bilsteins from Axis. they might be better priced.

The m-sport has the sport suspension. Yours isn't an m-sport so I highly doubt is has sport suspension.

Once you get quotes, please post them here

I will go with the group on this one. Not sport.

Can you give me your prices? Thanks.

Be glad you don't have sport shocks

From that reaction I will take you at your word

Quote From Steves:

R4050 fitted.

They also quoted me R3450 for a unichip. I have heard of these. He only mentioned this when I asked if I should Dynatune the vehicle. He reckons for this particular car it will be a hell of an improvement.

260k on the clock.

Anyone?

Dude stay away from Steves auto clinic. And what ever you do under no circumstances let them tune your car.

Don't chip it.

If you want better consumption and more power WHEN NEEDED, then do a software remap. The E39 is not a race car.

So a forum search on them. I have only hear horror stories.

You have a few options. We have 3 forum sponsors who can help with a tune/chip rennzport, excede and project shift.

And for shocks I'm sure moranor has gotten back to you by now.

Rennzport offers pnp chips like racechip which is what I'm putting on my car.

I have contacted the performance people.

RennZport: Number not available and those that ring no one picking up :argh:

Excede: Gauteng - Not picking up :argh:

Project Shift: Immediate pickup and friendly as. Very helpful but too damn far for me. :ty:

There you go. You have a better price from axis. Shocks are about an hour labour each to install. So your still under Steves price.

Pm revo@rennzport on the forum. Racechip Pro2 is R4500

It's a debatable topic I suppose. But racechip claims better consumption and from the international forums, people are achieving better consumption.

I have yet to drive mine with the chip.

OK. My opinion.

Maybe this is just a very bad day for these people. People that tune cars by either mapping or chipping.

Very very very pathetic so :bravo: to them.

I have now contacted several. They are not answering their phones or you get responses like "sorry die boss hy isie inie". One person I contacted who does this for a living his response "Nou hoekom wil jy daarmee peuter" WTF!!

I feel like  like a bloody baby (at least I can do this in my BMW).
