Ya, I still find the new nomenclature a bit odd. But clearly they feel that there is a necessity to further differentiate the coupe from the sedan..

The new name will also mean a heftier price tag over the saloon. Just like A4 and A5. "I drive a 4 series" - doesn't really do it for me yet. I hope we see an M435i or M440i.
