Single turbo on n54 would probably yield different results.Crash_Nemesis said:Hilly335i said:Stock vs stock is a no brainer. Modding the M3 however will cost 10X as much as the 335i....take a FBO 335i with upgraded turbos (such as RB) against a modded M3 (with supercharger upgrade).....335i still comes up top. Think there was quite a few 335i`s from the N54 forums that raced against supercharged M3 at various air strip attacks...
The 335i comes ontop?? No... 135i, maybe, but not 335i. Also, there are a lot of M3's with low boost setups that give a proper boosted M3 bad names. I;ve also read many forum posts were guys boast about beating a supercharged M3. When asked what stage kit the M3 was running, they all forget to mention it was a 3psi supercharged M3 and they all suddenly think they are faster than all supercharged M3's. Try a 9psi M3.
I don't want to sound like a doos, so don't take my post the wrong way man, I'm just stating facts and love both cars. But the N54 in the 335i is not as great as the N54 in the 135i.
Here is a VT 600 ESS supercharged e92 vs one of the fastest RB turbo 335i with JB4's around... So no, the 335i does not come on top.

here is another video of an ess VT 625 M3... watch runs 7 and 8. Both 335i's lose. But on Run 10, that little 135i beats the M3 with RB turbos, meth and BMS tune with 85 gas. That little car is a monster. Also watch Run 11, stock turbo'd FBO e85 335i gets destroyed. Seeing the pattern yet?

Another 335i with RB turbos, FBO, Meth etc against a mid level supercharged M3.

Needless to say, the M3 in the second video had a passenger in all races, as well as his window down... also, a VT 600 and 625 are mid level supercharger kit for the e92, boosting only 6psi. The Vt 650 and 700 kits boost 8-9psi respectively. I'd love to see the race between the 135i and the M3 with a VT700 kit. Regarding cost, if you drive an M3, it is going to cost more, but that being said, it's not exactly 10x the price and can easily be installed at home, thus reducing install costs. I've installed 2 supercharger setups on my own cars, one of which is an M3.
So no... A fully modded 335i cannot beat a semi modded (mid stage supercharged) e92 M3. They come close, very close and are damn fast, but still lose.
For the cost of the 335i with 10k in mods to destroy an m3 it's the logical way to go for most. Most guys don't want to lay down big money on supercharger kits. Do the bigger kits on the m3 not require forged internals?
