BMW 330i 2005 model mag refurbishment recomendations

Morning all,

Thinking about doing a refurb on my ellipsoid mags.

Can someone perhaps please confirm the paint code.

Any recommendations for a professional strip/inspect/paint service in the Greenstone/ Edenvale are would be appreciated.

Previously used Re-nu-a-mag, Edenvale, wasn't impressed with the poor quality paintwork.

Thanks in advance:ty:

Hey Kurtg

Could you be kind enough to share with us how much it costs you when you get it done.

I'm also planning on having mine refurbished but just don't know how much to budget.

Thanks bud

Hi husaindindar,

I got a repair estimate from Wheel collision center on Friday, R5200 inc vat, less 15% for cash.

Wheel removal, Strip/ Inspect/ Repaint, includes new valves and wheel balance and refit

Perhaps if we do this as a group we can negotiate a better discount.

Their facilities looked good! Leave car with them approximately 3 days.

Cheers
K

To be honest, I had a wheel supposedly straightened and painted at Wheel Collision Centre. Wheel is still not straight and the paintwork left much to be desired.

I know I'm extremely pedantic, but when you paying more than other places, you expect the quality of workmanship to be that much better.

Wowwwwwwwww OK.

It might be cheaper to get me a good condition second hand set.
I would suggest you look into this also. I was thinking of going over to style 193's from my 194's.

5K is quite a dent to the pocket...

HiTech, no. Overcharge with unsatisfactory results.
Wheel Collision center, no. Exactly the same experience as Luigi.
I've used renuamag before with decent results, but after your experience I'd say, no.

That's why I gave up on getting mags repaired. There's literally no one that's reputable. I rather buy reps, and when they get hurt you replace them. There's nothing more demoralizing than a vibration when you drive.

Not all of us can afford to replace wheels every time they get buckled. As you guys know I had a poor customer experience at hi-tech last year, 15years of dealings with them and their work was and always has been perfect but their arrogance and customer relations are so bad that I no longer deal with them directly, I just get a friend to take in wheels or get the driver to collect and drop off. Sure they are more expensive than other wheel shops but the finish on the inside and on the barrel is way better and I'm prepared to pay for that.

yeah I agree with you, Hi Tech have really gone down with their customer service, but I have refurbd wheels with them, and touch wood, to this day I have never had any issues with the wheels they repaired for me..

That easy to say if you drive a 3er. But wheels that fit AND look decent for 5ers are rare as the proverbial hens teeth. Doubly so for an e39, even more doubly so when the car came with a staggered set up like mine.

It seems like it's not an easy task to find anyone who can get the job done right ! :YesNo:
I am now in 2 minds whether to wait for someone selling "new" mags which I like or to refurbish the mag wheels on my car.

Anyone tried mag master along Jules street, Malvern?
Lol @ Jules street. Nothing good has ever come from Jules street.
I have been using them for +- 5years without issues.. Affordable too!
Doubtful due to their location (dodgy) hahahaha
