I have a 2004 318ti, it is a bit sluggish in the low rpm and i do have a idling problem - but that sorts itself out after a few mins! But i drive the car because it looks absolutely amazing! You will not regret getting a 325ti at all! get it in white or silver, slat some black rims on it and ur sorted!!! Goodluck and Enjoy!!!:rollsmile:

Thanks Wade, to be honest I want one exactly like yours!

I think you should vinyl the roof black on yours... And the mirrors.

Would look super mean with those wheels! :inlove:

Bring on January! :fencelook:

Dudes & Dudets (cos ya'll just be that cool)

What sort of fuel consumption can I expect from a 325ti?

Town, High Way and Flat out please. :bravo:

just urban driving I would say about 10 - 12l/100km
just extra urban 6 and up l/100km
mixed 8 - 10 l/100km
flat out - if you drive flat out all the time you can almost see the fuel gauge go down

Of course it would be worse if you go the auto route

Edit: If you are comparing the 318ti to the 325ti based on the consumption I would say go for the 325, fuel consumption will be a bit worse, but I think it is a price worth paying, as it will drive so much better.

You'd be surprised, the 325 might even get better consumption than the 318. I know I noticed that when I had both E46 330 and 318. More so when it involved a fair amount of highway driving.

Nah, not comparing as I have decided the 325Ti is the way to go. Wont bother with the 318 motor.

Was just curious as to how much different the economy would be as apposed to the Golf... :fencelook:

i got no idea what you get on your golf but i had a 1.6 polo 9N before my 323i and i get better consumption on the bmw than i got on the polo... i think the bmw likes the way i drive it more than the polo did

I am managing with driving miss daisy about 7.1 Litres per 100km combined.

So I am getting about 200km from R150 petrol which is alright but the second you do anything ungodly the Golf retorts with 10L per 100km again.

i used to get 9.8 on the polo and i get 9.5 on the bmw i dont think you should expect much lower than 9 on the bmw if you try drive it nicely, but i dont know because i have never tried

Well you see, thats another issue... Even in the old girl (1982 230E Merc) this morning I couldnt resist getting the ass out and having a bit of fun.

Of course this is done on backroads, its not so fun when it happens in the parking lot at N1 City.

I have a 318ti (which i love to bits) and my wife has a 2007 Polo Comfortline, the 2 big differences i can see is that the boot on the Ti is a lot smaller than the Polo and also the Polo is more fuel efficient. Having said that though i prefer driving the Ti due to the response and feedback that you get from it as well as the sheer driving pleasure.

I can have a threesome in comfort in the back of the touring, can carry 2 full sets of wheels or even carry 4 bumpers in the back. The touring is far more versatile than a ti, 5 doors vs 3 doors, touring looks far better too, I don't know what BMW were thinking when they styled the front end of the compact...

Sex is good, threesomes are wonderful things...

Why would I need to carry tyres around?

Versatility and threesomes in one sentence... You have a point.

The Compact is a breed between a Polo and a Opel Kadett, so yes the touring wins on looks... But a sportspack Compact is hottt.

Stop making this so difficult!
