the e90 has 6 bolts on the flywheel it seems bmw used to use 8 im not sure about the e39 also after numerous conversations with a guy from LUK there is only a 2mm difference in the offset between the e46 and e90 flywheel... turned into a dead end for me...

Seems that I would have the same problem with the e39.

Moranor, what did you do about the situation? Are you running a e46 flywheel? and what clutch?

im running an e46 flywheel and an e90 clutch... i still dont know where this vibration is coming from... but gizmo seems to have had the same thing on his 330i all thou we have not heard each others cars im not convinced its the flywheel any more so i have not done anything more about it... if i do find its the flywheel i will get a custom one made with the right offset...

from the measurements i have been able to take the e90 ZF box has a 20mm offset... when compared to the e46 box i took off... unfortunately i have a getrag e90 box on my car and have not been able to find one to measure... i dont think the clutch would work at all with and extra 20mm to play with?

ive been running the car like this for about a year now and it has not destroyed anything but a bush... i dont like that it is there... but it does not seem to be a big problem...

secretly im hoping it will go away when i sort out the rear subframe

if not ill go hunting some more
