howsit gents

looking for some advice

im currently driving a '10 135i n55 ppk 2 (Jb4 , DP , Intake)

what would the pros and cons be of adding nos to a stock turbo car.
i have been advised by two different people that if the setup is done correctly all will be fine , but having said that i still feel scared to take the risk.

is there anyone one here that can advise me whether i should or shouldnt and why

TIA

I wouldnt do it.
Simply put there is allot that can go wrong using NOS - adds so much strain on the engine

research it..been used for decades...depends on how much you want from it..what kind of install..make an informed decision.

Your motor is running some forged internals already.

I would go for a small shot like a 50hp and make sure you use it after 3500 rpm and only from 3rd to 6th gear. Should be fine if you get a wet system

But maybe speak to some tuners as they would advise you the best

Your current mod list is still small...

Why not considering backend flash, stage 3 fueling, big turbo, upgraded coils, CP, IC, trans tune, meth or port injection etc...

These mods will be very satisfying.

NOS...will take you to your power goals must faster if done correctly. I ran NOS for two years but found upgrading the turbo more satisfying and less issues or worries about something that may go wrong. However, i (wont) rule out NOS in my future...:smilebounce:

BUT the direction you choose depends on your goal with the car.

Yeah my mods are still small however i am looking at different options to see what outcomes are.

thanks alot for your reply i appreciate it

with the above mentioned mods what sort of power in numbers would i be expecting , the only thing holding me back from BIIIG Turbo is 100k :blueCry: hahahaha

Nos is the best zar per hp that u can get. With a nos progressive controller you could increase your shot size without damaging your motor

A 50 shot is around 50 hp on the fly. So that’s 37 flywheel kw and will probably about 27-30wkw

Its hard to predict what power you gonna make with NOS on the N55 Eseries platform. A 50shot may not equate to 50kw. Best is to dyno before & after.

Read my NOS thread here: https://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=11517

Thanks so much what a perfect write up indeed.

hahahahahaha

would you be able to recommend a tuner and installer for me i am still gonna dig abit deeper but im keen for a small shot to play around with

Unfortunately i dont have a recommendation on whom to use...you will have to scout around.

My personal suggestion is to take small steps... leave the nitrous for now and invest in the supporting mods on the car. Start off with a good chargepipe that have 2 meth bungs so when you ready one day for nitrous then you already got the CP with a bung for nitrous. Next up is the backend flash for the Jb4. Then tune the car...dyno it and see how the car performs with those mods.

The guys that go for nitrous have normally already max out the power on their cars and they want to get that extra. Dont jump straight into it especially if you have not experienced what the car is capable of without it.

Yip this guy nailed it on the head. For tuners speak to Marius from full boost

Just a small bit of correction... there is nothing forged in the N55 internals, the rods and pistons are all cast items.

Oh really I thought the crank and rods were forged and the pistons were cast
