My 135i has everything except xenons
I wanna change the bulbs to a white, brighter light if possible
Will motorplan be cool with that? Will they fit it if i ask nicely
What bulbs would u recommend for low and high beam and parks...brand and type of bulb
Where can i buy it and how much?

Many thanks

Well as far as I know changing your bulbs wont affect motorplan, if you want a whiter brighter light the philips range is good like their cool blue or night breakers, I in particular liked to the zone bulbs was the whitest bulb ever, you get them at autostyle.

Oh btw most bmws take H7 bulbs, and fitment is fairly easy.

You can get a set of Osram Nightbreaker Plus at Midas - they're under R200 for a set.

The Philips x-treme also has similar light output too.

Both of these are probably the brightest halogens currently on the market.

Should something happen to your headlight such as water damage or musking, etc motorplan would refuse to pay due to you changing the bulbs. Its not that likely that something would go wrong though, just the risk of voiding the warranty on the headlights

You may also want to consider going onto modbargains.com. They have the carbon fibre look headlights that look beforked :inlove: Looks super cool

so what are the sizes one buys?

Is it just H7 ?
to change the parks ? what do i ask for?

That might be T10. Not 100%. LED is your best option here. Same for spots.

T10 wedge of course and not tubular

Vsomai (sponsor) on this forum is the lighting guy for hardware. He got it looking great on an E90 with the projectors installed. Check with him.

That's still a waste of dough IMO. It will cost like 10% of that cost by updating it yourself.

Any ideas on how without loosing mp or doesn't the lights affect it? I need to find a different dealership and definitely need to talk to more people on the forum. One dealership told me its impossible and the other 28k which is insane.

You want to modify the car in plan but worried about the upgraded lights affecting the plan?

I have no idea if it will. I would think that it would as you are adding items into the electronics of the car and not just doing a simple bulb change.

How much plan left?

Well, one dealership says it won't affect the mp and actually mentioned a few options then another dealer says no way, can't do it. It is just a globe change I guess, will investigate further.

I gave about 65k left

Its not just a globe change, ther's probably the harness, the xenon headlights themselves, the ballast and bulbs etc.
Just fit some nightbreakers or philips xtreme, and replace your parks with LEDs and avoid trouble with your motorplan.

I am not the cosmetic styling modding guy. I normally dont bother with the lights and stuff. Unless i want to install aggressive styling mods on my car. But changing the head "lights" on the car makes a big difference from the standard look. Going the BMW route is very expensive. Inquire from the sponsors on this forum and weigh up the options.

please ask these guys how does this affect motorplan and get it in writing. the same wattage at the same voltage will not affect anything. aesthetics is better of course. when you ask for it in writing then there is alot of hesitance and maybe the yes answer you require. worked for me while my car was under MP!!!
