BMW 118i 2008-2011 thoughts?

Hey gents I'm looking to buy a 118i with the newer n43b20 engine I just want to know how everyone's experience with this car is what faults have you had ? Maintenance cost? And is it true that the timing chain stretches easily ?

I don't know much about this engine (I'm sure someone will give you some input).
I know there will be arguments for and against, but have you considered an e46 instead?

I haven't really but I like the hatchback style my budget is around 100k could go a bit more , but I'm mostly looking for the best in reliability at this point and for safety for the wife ,from what I gather 6 cylinder BMW's are bullet proof but they go for quite a bit or the km are just too high

For that money you can get a decent 120d or E90 320d LCI, both are very reliable cars and lots of fun to drive :thumbs:

Agreed, in that prioce range I would definitly go with a 120d, seeing that you prefer the hatch look.

Thanks for the input guys I think I'll be looking for a 120d as they go for a decent price if I find a bargain on a 330d I might consider it
