sounds like a chipped 135i with an lsd
nothing to be excited about. A conservative tune/chip already deliver those numbers And there are quite a few 135/335s with aftermarket LSDs...so nothing new.
BMW should concentrate on finding a solution to a very temperamental engine in the 135/335 especially "that" HPFP fuel pump. :thumbdown:

I've been following the developments on this car quite closely.
Here's a breakdown more or less of what to expect:
* Upgraded version of the 135i's twin-turbo N54 motor.
* 350Hp, 420Nm (approx.)
* M3 Brakes
* M3 Seats
* Tweaked version of M3's LSD
* Lighter than the 135i
* Better suspension which will make it more fun to drive and more stable at higher speeds.
* And of course the swollen wheel arches to house some 19's
The chief developer of this car says they are building a car which will make M more affordable and available to the masses.
It will be shown for the 1st time at the Detroit motor show, and will go on sale in Europe in Spring 2011.
There's a couple of demo vids on Youtube now, released last week. Just search for 1er M Coupe, and you'll find them. The test car is black with lots of that camoflauging tape on the front, back and sides. But you can see more or less how it will look.

My guess would be around 100-150k more than the base 135i, but hopefully there wouldn't be to many extras on the M with most of the things standard, making it not that much more that a kitted out 135i and you get the wider body kit and quad tail pipes 
. I would have liked it if they'd rather use the engine from the Z4 M coupe, but that is just my opinion.

Is it confirmed that it will be N54 or N55 as some places are reporting N54 which I do not think is the case. I think the BMW exercise can only be confirmed as succesfull once we see the pricing. If too much I will rather work a normal 135 as I know with under R30k you can get it to fly and handle.
It appears to be using the same engine as is used in the 335is which has been available for a while in the USA. Visit the U.S site to check the details on it. JSN motors mentioned that the AC Schnitzer chip takes power up to 245kw for around 30k although I did see that it has been designed for 98 octane fuel. Does anybody know the price of the BMW performance chip. i also did see that there was a special edition BMW Sauber F1 edition with 268kw.
