Hi All,
So yesterday I was killing time and looking at M5's for sale on Autotrader. I got to the cheapest one at R189k and its an e39 in silverstone blue. Check out the pic's and at first view think its not bad, but then something triggered my brain to look closer. On second view I notice the license disc and have a look at the vin number. Did not even see the reg. Think to myself, that vin rings my bell. Go check my old license papers and as true as, its my M5 I sold 12 years ago. I got all nostalgic and saved the pics onto the lap top. I have to say it still looks to be in good shape considering, although it seems the person may have been a little clumsy in getting in and out the car with the scuff marks on the drivers door card and the leather harm rest and handle look as though they need some good cleaning and sprucing up, other than that its pretty well cared for after all these years. Its also seemed to have only done 70k kms in those 12 yrs as I sold it with around 118k kms. I miss this car, think its one of the best I ever owned and definately one of the best BMWs ever built. They were built like tanks and awesome to drive...... this one was derestricted when I bought it and I did try it out on the hiway past Warmbaths on a quiet midweek day....saw 295km/h on the clock and just about on 7k rpm but it was effortless and rock steady!!! :tiptoe:
Happy and sad at the same time........ happy to see its still alive, sad that I no longer have it.......:argh::argh:
This is the car that's pictured when I took delivery from Michael Broom at X16 in my signature.....
