Sorry to hijack but once a big end bearing change has been done, when does it need to be changed again? And how would you know it needs to be changed ? Or will the change rectify the original issue ?

This depends on which vehicle you are referring to, as well as the nature said vehicle is driven and frequency of oil changes following bearing replacement.

Yes it can. This is for the e46 the e92 could be similar
