Bewitched M535i

After much hassle I finally mananged to get to Harding to bring M535i home. That's what I tought was the biggest hassle.
After hitching the car to an dummy trailer/A-frame contraption we avoided the few beer drinking cops and made our way to the NN2 which is my path back home.
We just took off at T-junction an the trailer breaks apart leaving the car going up a bank and rolling back , standing half way on the road. An hour and half later the car is straightened up and towed using an old rope.(Thankfully the brakes worked)
With all the jacking up and the angles I looked at the car I noticed the front suspension is all new and the gearbox is shiny like silver. I'm thinking all is well we drove for about 15km.... And then !
The rear wheels seize, the discs are missing too, now what?
Its probably the diff (crown and pinion?)
Now I leave the car on the road and go back to fetch another A-frame.
The rear off the car is placed on the broken trailer, which happens to be just an axle now. The front is mounted and off we go. All this took about 2hours

So much for a day and the love of automobiles.
The vehicle purchases last year november and kept it secret from family and friends till yesterday. My wife grilled me and I'm still sizzling.

Flatbeds are cheap.....

My 540 was recovered on a flatbed in fscking... donkerkop or something.

Stickshifts E32 was also recovered other side magallies, and it cost like R350 or something daft.

Feel your pain, but please :ttiuwp: Besides, have a passion for these cars, and would love to see pics anyway.

The story for when she is done just gets a whole lot better :)

I remember when LZ bought his 540, he brought her home on a flatbed trailer. After a day or three of fiddling on the car, he returned the flatbed trailer with the same 540! Justice!

Oh I remember that :)

That was awesome. Picked her up on the friday evening, dropped the trailer off on sunday morning.

Trailers and towing stuff!

Years ago I once had my little 2 berth caravan overtake me, then demolish itself (I can still remember my own expression in the rear view).

I will never own a caravan, towbar or trailer now, for some reason I don't care for them anymore.
