Best wax for a hard life??

Hey,

My Mini sees a hard life as it gets parked outside under a tree most of the time. I know this is bad, but my classics get the garages, so till I get a bigger place (read -more garages) this is what I am stuck with.

I use a car cover whenever I can, but sometimes its just too impractical.

So, on to the question.

What wax would give the best protection against environmental contaminants?
If it lasts long it would be nice, but protection is first priority here.

I read good things about Fuso, but there are so many products out there that it is hard to keep track.

What would you recommend?

From my understanding sealants last longer than waxes. Soft 99 claims to last a couple of months.

The difference between a wax and a sealant is a wax is made up of natural forming carnuaba wax. This unfortunately doesn't last long when exposed to UV.

Sealants however, are polymers that are produced in the lab. They have a much higher tolerance to UV, which is why they will easily last you up to 6 months.

If you looking for all out protection and shine look at these sealants that we have:

Menzerna Powerlock - R389

Soft 99 Fusso - R380

Optimum Opti Seal - R260

The optiseal is the easiest sealant you can possibly use. litterally just wipe it on with foam applicator and it flashes & bonds immediately. No curing time no buffing off. 10 mins done.

Does opti seal or Fusso stain black trim? I'm so tired of getting NXT 2.0 on my trim by accident.

Fusso most probably will stain it. I haven't tested it out, but its always advisable to avoid plastic and rubber trim. Most polymers will stain the trim to be honest.

OptiSeal however will not. If you plan on going this route, remember to clean out your trim first, and then apply. It makes a big difference to the overall appearance. And remember LESS is more, 30ml will do 5 cars. So you will be using just about 6ml per application. :coolShake:

It actually is a brilliant product. Just doesn't get enough airtime unfortunately.

The regular price is R335, we have it on special for this month to R260 so it just a really good deal at the moment.
