Hey guys

time to get new tyres for my car , need some suggestions on a guuuud tyre, I would love to get michelen pilots ps2 but they are way over my budget lol,so looking for a good quality tyre, very good grip in dry and wet and long lasting tyres and value for money, decently priced.
what would you guys suggest?

I am interested in the Goodyear f1 Assymetric tyre, would any1 recommend them?

Oh tyre size: front 235/35 r19
Back 265/30 r19

Mmmmmm, I don't know if this is a wise thing to do but, here goes. I had a Merc SL 300-24 and it gave me a lot of grief and was costing bucket loads of money to repair every 5 mins. Anyway, when the two back tires needed replacing I was reluctant to spend piles of money and besides, the damned car had eaten most of the spare cash anyway. So, off I went hunting for tires and ended up at Good Hope tires in Tokai. Bought two Roadzone tyres 225/45/16's IIRC for about R850 each. Balanced and fitted. My family and friends raised their eyebrows a bit but, they turned out to be damned good. Did a trip to Pietrmaritzburg and back through rain and sun and wind and they were perfect. The engine blew up a few months ago and I was lucky to find a mechanic that paid me 50K for the car. I spoke to him the other day. He spent 71,000 fixing the engine and its running better than new again. And those Roadzone tires are still on the car and are spot on. in fact, when you look at them, the tread pattern looks like a Goodyear F1.
Would I go out and buy some for my BM? I doubt it but, if I was working to a strict budget, for sure.
So, maybe find a shop that stocks Roadzones and have a look. Might just be what you're looking for.

I have Toyo T1-R's, they good bang for buck. Minty's will give you great deals on these tyres.
But I'm definitley going Michelin's next.

From what I have read, people are loving the new Michelin PSS on the e46 M3. I have Continental ContiSports on mine right now and dont like them.

My E36 however has Goodyear Eagle F1 Asym's and I love them. Great value for money tire, but I dont think they are in production anymore.

Michelin's are the best. But the Goodyear and Pirelli are worth looking at but suffer from being too soft hence the mileage you get out of them isn't great. I suggest the Yokohama Advan, great tyre. Had them on my e46. Not as good as the Michelin but 90 odd percent there.

Try Nankang.
I'm using 19'' nankang at the moment.
I'm not abusing my M3 but if been testing them gradually, and so far no complaints. They're also good in the rain.
The best thing about them is that I paid R6500 for a set, 235/35/19 and 275/30/19 .

Lekker, I'll keep you updated.

I have heard very good about Falkens,
checkout this website, very good rated. don't ever get Sunny's or Wanli's, they are the worst.
I was happy with the Achilles and Toyo's which I have had up till now, I am fitting my Falkens today, so lets see.
