Hi

This question might be bit late..but i have 2009 116i. Whats the best shocks to buy?

lol. Already bought Gabriel GasRyders to fit saturday...are they good...or was monroe a better option?

Car have over 180k on..so i just thought time to change shocks as traction control light comes on on straight road with bumps in...and back site hop a bit if i go fast via a mountain pass...*

What does BMW recommend?

Thx

BMW shocks are made by sachs. You asked what bmw recommends. Bmw recommends BMW shocks not Sachs shocks.

it does not matter what engine the car has any car will benefit from better dampers because it will be more stable and ride better

Gabriel and Monroe are budget dampers BMW fit better from factory... anything is better than blown shocks though

Sachs SA currently do not bring in dampers but they are looking at doing so next year and building up good stock levels these will be a good replacement for those on a budget that dont want to compromise the way the car should be

Koni STR.T are the next step up:
Front R 1410 each
Rear R 1160 each

I can also get Bilstein B4 but need to get current pricing on them

Eish...bit expensive ..got these gabriels for R2900. l might not have the bmw much longer...looking for 120d or 320d....So i guess it will suite for time being?

maranor...is gabriels that bad? I want to put new shocks on due car have 187 000km on and im sure its stil stock and i sepose its time for new ones....so will gabriels be better than current shocks i have on with that km done on it?

not the end of the world if you selling the car just not as good as what the car came out with from BMW and and part of the BMW feel comes from having good dampers this is why I dont sell them :)

they should be better than the OEM dampers that have done 180 000km dampers are normally effective till around 100 000 km before they start to wear out
