Best options for tuning an M3 V8 Sedan

I am thinking about getting the some work done on the sedan. Maybe an exhaust and software. This is a very broad question, but who would be the best tuner to get this done safely and keep my motorplan ?

Full pipe and sw yields the most amount of power for you money.

As Andrew said, BMW performance or ACS. But Akrapovic is also now approved by BMW and is the only one with high flow cats but costs 70k, the others are just back boxes which only give you a few kw. Don't touch the intake as it doesn't make a difference for the price.

If your car has anti-tuning sw on it, then there is going to be a problem. But not for to long. A after-market exhaust will have to be taken out before going to a dealer.

With regards to tuners Xcede FTW:thumbs:

My suggestion would be to leave the ///M as is.

A chip & exhaust mod on an M3 is not worth risking MP. If you gained 100Nm...i would have said pay the R70 000...but that gain is not going to be achieved for those mods.

But an extra 30wkw not worth doing?

sell it and get a 335i. Put money in the bank and tune the 335i. You're in Gauteng, so the 335i will be the better option

Maybe, I am spoilt seeing huge gains for little mods.

Leave the ///M as is...enjoy it...is my advice.

M3 with stage 2 software and full exhaust is how the car should have comed from factory. Try and arrange a race with a modded M3 as mentioned above and you will see what a big difference it makes.

I have been in a M with software and exhaust. That car would leave me looking for parking :)

Just get an exhaust and call it a day. with NA engine you won't get much from SW:argh:

Hey Tommy, I think you made 216kw with full Akra. We have 4 cars that make over 240kw with software And exhaust on the same dyno. So the software is making up to 25kw on the wheels in some instances.

Yeah that's weird coz I made instant 11 extra kw on the wheel at snail with just the exhaust, so don't know why I only made 4 on WRC:cry:

But now can you tune my car with the anti tuning?
