So today is/was the last day of me being a teenager, now I'm thrust in the 'graduation year' in between being a true 21 year old adult and a teenager.
Earlier in the day, I had this sudden impulse to do something most teens nowadays don't do because it ain't 'cool' or 'hip' however I felt it was something special...what that impulse was? you ask.
It is to climb Lion's Head and live my last few 'daylight' hours of being a 19 year and 364 day old. So I changed into my shorts, put on my new North Face GoreTec jacket and off we go to Lion's Head.
Upon reaching the start point, it was misty....had a "Gorillas in the Mist" moment there but then I carried onwards, acting on my impulse....
Just a short walk up and around the bend, the mist suddenly disappeared and the golden rays of the sun pierced my eye. The sun is out (well it's been out, I was just on the shadow side of the mountain
), I must say all the rain these few days had created a lot of big puddles, made things slippery and also everything was sooo green!...was super fun! :thumb:
Got up to the top and I was blessed with the most beautiful birthday present ever! It just makes me love life and Cape Town even more!!!!
Picture this: You are at the top, looking towards the ocean and Camps Bay/Twelve Apostles direction. All you see below is the low-hanging fogs covering everything in its path below..it IS like an ocean of mists just slowly flowing further towards the sea. Table Mountain was covered in clouds however it just left a perfect gap allowing the Twelve Apostles peaks to show through. You look up and the sky is surreal, I've never seen the sky like that before, it wasn't pure blue blue and it was very light light blue, it's hard for me to explain it. Not to mention the sunset :inlove: :joy:
raise:
Anyways I felt that whatever or how this impulse came into existence, I really am thankful for it as it IS the best birthday present ever! Nowadays, birthday presents are too materialistic or money-wise, it's really good to be reminded that life isn't just about the money or the materialistic things...we're forgetting about the beautiful, big blue planet we are blessed with and live on!
The only regret I have...WAS I DIDN'T BRING MY CAMERA
However sometimes the most majestic views are only suppose to be seen and not taken a photo of...however I'm still regretting I didn't bring the camera... YES! it was really THAT GOOD! or else I wouldn't have written this much if it didn't matter to me!
Take care guys, and remember it's not always about the money or the materialistic things
I'll be off partying later
