Battery replacement

You are sadly mistaken, you do need to register the battery in order for the alternator to adjust it's charge rate accordingly

When are you back in GP, might need some assistance with registering my new battery please

Hi Guys,

Got my Varta battery for the E70 X5 from Battery Cabin in Edenvale. They were the cheapest. There was no need to register the new battery and it’s been now about 18months.

My wife’s F30 gave an alert that the electronics have been limited and something else due to high battery discharge. It was a maintenance free original battery. My brother-in-law works for First National Battery and advised to open it up and check the cells. All were dry.

Long story short, went to the hardware and bought distill water and filled up al the cells. 6 months now and the battery is perfect

When the battery is register and charged correctly, you can get upto 7 years out of them, I delayed the registration on my Varta ( about a year after i installed it) and I got 4 years.

Thanks guys, will have to consider registering the battery then.... but no idea how to
