Battery or Alternator Issue?

Hey guys,

So recently my car hasn't been starting first time, everytime - which is bugging me.
Driving it, it never cuts out.

I can turn the key to just before starting and all the lights are on - no issues there. The power will cut out when I turn the key all the way. Everything dies :/
Move the battery connection a bit, and it'll start.

Do I need a new battery or is the alternator doing something wrong?

sounds more like a bad connection to me.

clean and tighten battery terminal before you do anything else.

i haven't seen a battery oxidize in a long time, have a look around the terminal for cracks and so on, maybe it got bumped at some point and now it is causing k@k.

It does sound like a terminal problem. Had that once, literally had to move the positive terminal a bit and then the lights would come back on and the car would then start. Eventually took it in and they replaced the black thingy that's on the positive terminal, not sure what its called. But ya, it was loose inside and therefore dropping power.
