Hi Everyone

As some of you might know, I've recently sold my beloved '99 model Nissan 200 STI which I've owned for almost 5 years.

It was really difficult for me to let it go, but I needed something more practical as I am planning to expand my family.

I've been thinking of getting a diesel for a while, but I needed something that could offer very good performance as well as decent fuel economy.

The reason for this is that I didn't want something I would get bored of, that would eventually lead me to buy another STI and I know I'll never find another one close to the condition that mine was in. :blueCry:

After a lot of research, it seemed that the E90 was the way to go. Good fuel economy, good performance, even better with just software.

So I've finally managed to get hold of a 2007 Le Mans Blue E90 330d Manual Sportspack.

From what I've heard these cars are quite reliable, I really hope I didn't make the wrong decision. :tiptoe:

Here are a few random pics, I'll take better pics once I've sent the car for a proper valet.

I've posted this in the New Members Intro Section, but this will be my Ride's Thread.

I'm thinking of wrapping the grills, splitters, rear spoiler, mirrors and diffuser.
What are your thoughts and suggestions?

I can't decide between matt black, gloss black or carbon.

Hey Carl

Most guys palstidip the kidney grills, as its easier than to wrap it, but you also get nice after market black and carbon grills these days. You also get mirror caps, only in carbon fibre look, as well as some nice front splitters

I would suggest black, but ultimately you going to have to choose your preference, as it will suit your styling needs.

congrats... looks great.

i am biased about this.., but i would suggest investing in some detailing kit and keep the paint in good condition rather than have the car wash induce swirls over time.

Thanks, I'm actually looking for a place in Cape Town that can keep the paint in good condition for me. (Might have found one!) :tiptoe:

I don't know anything about detailing, and I've heard that you could do more harm than good if you don't know what you are doing. :smashScreen:

Carl, the best place to it, is usually at home yourself. You got my number? if not will pm it to you. Will give you some pointers, there is also a few write ups on the forum regarding detailing.

Or get someone to detail it for you, a proper detail, not what the local car wash would do, then maintain it by washing it yourself.

Congrats with the car bud, they are lovely! It might be a good idea to have a look at the air filter as most workshops tend to skip this when doing the services.

Many happy km's!

Seems like right after buying my car I've now noticed a lot more Le Mans Blue M Sport E90 Pre-LCI's around Cape Town. :skit:

Definitely needed to do something to make it slightly more unique from the rest.

Decided to go the PlastiDip route.
