Ok so I decided too replace my vanos seals this weekend. So saturday morning got my seals from Freerider(last set in stock with him). Got all the tools together an off to my sister and he pads needed replacing. WIth doing her brakes it gave my kar time to cool down.

After her brake I started stripping my car. The fan clutch came off easier than I thought it would. All was going well and got the valve cover off too find this:

Now that was a new valve cover put on a a month ago. Clearly the place where I had the car will never see me again. That amount of sealant would have made me wonder if they did but a new one on but I did get the old one as well.

Got the vanos off and found this:

Now help if I'm wrong but this is not too critical?

THe exhaust vanos piston had a chip in. That cracked bit has a bit of a dent inwards so I can only assume that it was hit with something. Little bit was sitting really tight in there but I did not feel comfortable with the fact it might out and go in somewhere it should not. Agents was closed already. What now... so I phone freerider again to ask him for advice. Luck for me he had a secondhand unit with him he said I can buy but still needs to get new seals. No problem.

Got the vanos and replace the seals. Putting car back to getting I knew i was running out of day light so I gave the removal of all the junk of the valve cover gasket a skip. Will do it this weekend.

The car is already starting to feel beter.

Also freerider error codes for me:
P0050 HO2S heater circuit bank 2 sensor 1
P0154 O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2 Sensor 1)
P1347 P1347 Misfire Cylinder 3 With Fuel Cut-off

He cleared the codes for me and will ride for a week of two and then get someone who can read it again for me and go from there

So i guess the O2 sensor might need replacement. Where is the best to get it?
